Meth

If your loved one is using meth, you’re struggling with helplessness and feel completely out of control. Talking is the only course of action you have. Talk to someone about what you’re going through, and if you’re ready, talk to your loved one.

Meth: Conversation Starters

  • Are you able to identify your substance use triggers – certain people, places or emotions?
  • Do you have anyone to talk to?
  • Share a story about how your loved one’s substance use has affected you
  • Are you scared for your safety?
  • Are your kids, pets, home safe?
  • Do you have clean clothes?
  • Do you feel safe at home?
  • Where do you eat breakfast? Where do you eat lunch? Where do you eat dinner?
  • Are you getting enough sleep? Do you have a consistent sleep schedule?
  • Are you experiencing any financial burdens as a result of someone’s meth use?
  • Share a story about your concern for your loved one’s safety.
  • Are you considering recovery or treatment?
  • Do you know where treatment is available?
